Sandra Garrett, PhD
Chief Executive Officer
Co-Founder
Dr. Sandra Garrett is the Chief Executive Officer of MediMergent, LLC and one of the four founding partners of the Company. She also served as the Chief Executive Officer of Global Records Systems, LLC, an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) service and software company providing support to community-based medical practices. Previously, Dr. Garrett served as Executive Chairman of Global Research Services, LLC, a full service international clinical research organization (CRO) with offices on 3 continents. Dr. Garrett was also the founder of Medifacts International and served as its President and CEO until 2006. Medifacts pioneered the use of 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring in clinical trials. The Company also developed, in alliance with the Max Planck Institute, algorithms for the analysis of QT prolongation as measured by ambulatory 12-lead electrocardiogram (Holter) monitoring. In conjunction with these technologies, Dr. Garrett served as the co-principal investigator with Raymond Lipicky, MD (decd), a past director of the Division of Cardio-Renal Drug Products of the USFDA, under a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA). This landmark research defined critical analytics used in the drug approval process for all anti-hypertensive therapies. Dr. Garrett currently serves as the co-principal investigator with Norman Stockbridge, MD, Ph.D., Director of the Division of Cardiology and Nephrology, USFDA, under a Research Collaboration Agreement (RCA) focused on the collection and analysis of Real-World Data and Real-World Evidence using disruptive technologies.
Dr. Garrett has been an invited speaker at over 100 industry forums, authored multiple publications related to clinical trials methodologies, and served as co-chair of the annual New Paradigms to Fund Life Science Innovations, conducted in conjunction with the JP Morgan Health Care Conference. Dr. Garrett served on the Board of Directors of a regional bank as well as the Board of the Association of Clinical Research Organizations (ACRO). In addition, she was a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in the area of Life Sciences, and a three-time honoree by Women in Bio (WIB) for notable women entrepreneurs in life sciences. SmartCEO selected Dr. Garrett as one of the top 50 businesswomen in Washington, D.C. She also served as a member of the Leadership Council of the National Small Business Association serving on its Health and Human Resource Committee.

Kenneth Borow, MD

Dr. Ken Borow is a highly experienced physician, clinical trialist, problem solver, and healthcare entrepreneur. He is a Harvard-trained adult cardiologist, pediatric cardiologist, internist and pediatrician with over 30 years of patient-related care and clinical research. As a faculty member at Harvard Medical School, Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Chicago, and leading expert across multiple therapeutic areas in healthcare, he is the author of more than 130 peer-reviewed publications. In his career, Dr. Borow has helped design and operationalize over 100 development programs for drugs, biologics, medical devices, and combination products. He has had broad involvement with Data Safety Monitoring Boards (DSMB), Clinical Endpoints Committees (CEC), the US FDA and EMA.
Throughout his career, Dr. Borow has been Director of the Cardiovascular Non-Invasive Imaging Program at the University of Chicago, Head of Clinical Research Operations in the U.S. and Puerto Rico for Merck Research Laboratories, and CEO of a NASDAQ-traded contract research organization (CRO) with operations in 30 countries. In the latter position, he led the company’s consulting business, was actively involved in the design and conduct of multiple clinical trials and helped build the Company into an internationally recognized provider of quality consulting and clinical operational services. He holds multiple medical related patents and has been a senior advisor to a myriad of biopharmaceutical and other companies including prominent venture capital firms around the world.
As MediMergent’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Borow has been actively involved in study design development and operations as well as driving processes towards more patient centric outcomes. He has helped develop innovative ways to design and execute hybrid research programs that bridge the gap between real-world evidence and objective immunological biomarkers (including T-cell and B-cell function).

Bruce Garrett, MD

Co-Founder
Dr. Bruce Garrett is a physician, researcher, and business executive. He is a co-founder and Chief Operating Officer for MediMergent, LLC, focusing on the role of the Voice of the Patient and Real-World Evidence in the regulatory approval of drugs and devices. Prior service included serving as the CEO of Global Research Services, LLC, an international Clinical Research Organization with offices in US, Canada, Germany, Poland, India and China, that focused on Phase II-IV research across multiple therapies and devices. This company was the first CRO to offer FDA quality data management services in China. Prior to this, Dr. Garrett served as the Chief Medical Officer of Medifacts Ltd., an international provider of 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure and Holter monitoring. Prior to joining industry, Dr. Garrett was a partner at Washington Nephrology Associates, the second largest nephrology practice in the US. Dr. Garrett was previously a tenured Associate Professor of Medicine at George Washington University Medical Center, in Washington, DC. Dr. Garrett completed his training in Internal Medicine and Nephrology at the Rhode Island Hospital (Brown University) in Providence, RI. He completed a fellowship in Hypertension Research at the University of Texas/Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX under Norman Kaplan, MD. Dr. Garrett is a recognized leader in the treatment of hypertension, serving as the principal investigator for the development and approval of many anti-hypertensive therapies. He has appeared before FDA Advisory Panels on behalf of pharmaceutical sponsors. For his accomplishments in patient care, he was a named a three-time “Washington, DC Top Doctor” by Washingtonian Magazine.

Bryan James
Senior Director of Digital
Technologies
Bryan James is the Senior Director of Digital Technologies and is responsible for leading the company’s digital design team for the development of all patient-focused applications including outcome surveys and related Real-World data collection tools. He also provides oversight to the Company’s software development team which is responsible for software design, acceptance, and testing. This team is also responsible for all modifications to the Company’s digital clinical trials management platform deployed in both decentralized and traditional clinical trials. Mr. James also has direct reports responsible for training programs utilized by all stakeholders who engage with our digital technologies. Bryan is a member of the senior corporate management committee and interfaces with the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Director of Data Management, Director of the Federated Database, and partners responsible for the build of all ML/AI driven algorithms, biometric sensors, and synthetic human technologies.
Previously to joining the Company, Mr. James served as General Manager of eCResearch, LLC, an electronic medical records company providing turn-key services to national, community-based physician practices. At a predecessor corporation, eCast, he was responsible for implementation, training, and support services for a novel electronic medical record product. Early in his career, Mr. James spent more than twenty years with Misys Healthcare, holding various roles of increasing responsibility focusing on process controls, operations, engineering technology, engineering training, and documentation of electronic medical records platform. Misys Plc was sold to Allscripts. Mr. James received his undergraduate degree from Southwest Texas State University in computer sciences, as well as additional training in related operations and management strategies. Greg Simon

Greg Simon was recently the President of the Biden Cancer Initiative (BCI), an independent nonprofit organization started by Joe and Jill Biden in 2017. In 2016, Greg served as the Executive Director of the White House Cancer Moonshot Task Force, a position created by President Barack Obama and for which he was chosen by Vice President Joe Biden. Previously, Mr. Simon held senior positions in both chambers of Congress, was Chief Domestic Policy Advisor to Vice President Al Gore, and was a senior strategy consultant to a variety of international technology CEO’s. With Michael Milken, Mr. Simon co-founded and led FasterCures and the Melanoma Research Alliance. He was the Senior Vice President at Pfizer for worldwide policy and public engagement and was the CEO of Poliwogg, a financial services company creating unique capital market opportunities in healthcare and life sciences. He has developed a reputation as a visionary strategist, a dynamic public speaker and writer, and as a knowledgeable analyst of emerging trends in healthcare, information technology, innovative drug research and development and patient advocacy.
The journal Nature Medicine named Greg one of “Ten People to Watch” in health care policy, noting that he was among “a handful of influential people who quietly keep the wheels of biomedical science turning.” In 2010 he received the Genetic Alliance’s “Art of Advocacy” award. In 1994, Greg was invited by William Gates, Sr. to be the inaugural speaker in the Shidler, McBroom, and Lucas & Gates Lectureship in Law and Technology at the University of Washington in Seattle, where he spoke on the relationship of digital and genetic information technologies. In 2004, Greg received the Sharon Nelson Achievement Award from the Shidler Center for Law, Commerce and Technology at the University of Washington in Seattle. Ralph V. Boccia, MD

Dr. Boccia is Medical Director for the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders in Bethesda, Maryland, and Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. He is also Chief Medical Officer for the International Oncology Network (ION), and serves as chairman for ION’s Medical Advisory Panel. Dr Boccia completed training in internal medicine at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)– affiliated hospitals. His hematology, oncology, and bone marrow transplant fellowships were completed at the combined UCLA-VA Program and the National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. He is board certified in internal medicine, hematology, medical oncology. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, and the American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation. With his vast experience and research, Dr Boccia has published more than 180 articles in journal such as the Journal of Clinical Oncology, New England Journal of Medicine, Cancer, Blood, Annals of Internal Medicine, Lancet, and Oncology amongst others.
